Who is Ricardo Trading?
Richard Corelle, Owner & President
After earning his B.S. in Marketing, Richard immediately entered the textile industry as a sales representative. Over the following twenty years, he worked in sales and product development for several nationally-recognized companies including Nettle Creek, Park B. Smith, Inc., Richloom Home Fashions, Bloomcraft Fabrics, and D. Kwitman & Son. During that period, Richard created successful window, bedding, and accessory programs with a wide variety of retailers, including Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Spiegel, Country Curtains, Garnet Hill, Sears, and Montgomery Ward’s.
In 1996 Richard expanded his enterprise and established Ricardo Trading as an importer of soft window treatments from China, India, and the Philippines. Since that time, he has mastered the challenges of fabric design, the intricacies of its production, and the complexities of international shipping. Today, in addition to offering a comprehensive line of window and shower curtain products, Ricardo Trading also creates programs tailored to individual customers and their particular channels of distribution.
As the company has evolved, Richard has realized that being successful at the highest level requires a team of skilled professionals. To that end, Ricardo Trading promises its customers with complete confidence that everything they need to create a successful window program, from styling to delivery to service, will be handled expertly by our knowledgeable, experienced team.
Pat Cairns, Sales Manager
Pat graduated from Franciscan University with a B.S. in Business and Marketing. His early career was at the retail level, including a position which he filled for several years as a window buyer at Gimbel’s Department Store in Pittsburgh. Pat followed up his retail experience by a shift to sales at the wholesale level in the home furnishings industry.
For eighteen years, until joining Ricardo, Pat worked for the premier home furnishings company Croscill, where he contributed to product development, sales strategy, packaging and product display. In his last eight years with Croscill, he was based at their New York headquarters and was responsible for key accounts, including May Company and Macy’s, the New York icon Fortunoff’s, other nationally-recognized retailers and several international accounts.
Pat assumed the role of National Sales Manager at Ricardo Trading in 2010. Since joining the Ricardo team, he has broadened our reach in domestic retail sales, in e-commerce, and in international exporting. His experience in both wholesale and retail sales gives Pat the rare ability to think from both vendor and customer perspectives. Pat’s exceptional sales ability rests on his passion for tailoring programs specifically geared to individual customers in order to create successful programs that maximize each account’s potential.
